Per chew, Fera declares:

  • MCT oil: 175 mg.
  • NMN: 75 mg.
  • Phosphatidylserine: 50 mg on the label image; 60 mg in the product text.
  • Resveratrol: 40 mg.
  • MitoPrime L-ergothioneine: 7 mg. 1

These are separate ingredients with different research behind them. The formula combines an NAD precursor with ingredients investigated for brain function, antioxidant activity and healthy aging. The phosphatidylserine discrepancy is worth resolving with Fera for the jar you purchase; it should not be silently rounded into a single “confirmed” amount.

NMN and NR take part in making NAD

NAD helps cells move energy from food into a form they can use. Cells need to replenish it as well as reuse it in metabolic reactions.

Cells convert NR to NMN, then NAD. 2

Fera chooses NMN; Hollywood Elixir chooses NR. Their related chemistry makes both relevant to NAD nutrition. It does not make the milligram amounts an effectiveness score, or mean that one fewer step on a pathway guarantees a better oral supplement.

There is NMN research in dogs

An exploratory study of retired police dogs found lower inflammatory markers after NMN treatment. The NMN group was small, and there was no untreated control. The finding concerns blood markers, rather than demonstrated extra years of life. 3

A separate clinical case series examined dogs with elevated NT-proBNP, a cardiac biomarker. Some levels fell, but diagnoses, treatment courses and other therapies varied. It was not a controlled trial of normal aging or Fera’s chews. 4

This is a more useful picture than calling the ingredient either proven rejuvenation or purely a mouse story. Dogs have been studied; the next questions concern reliable clinical outcomes and the particular preparation being used.

At one chew a day, a jar lasts four times as long as it does at four.

Why MCT oil appears in brain-health research

Medium-chain triglycerides, or MCTs, feature in nutritional approaches intended to provide ketones as an alternative brain fuel when glucose use is impaired. 5

The amount and the rest of the diet matter. A chew containing MCT and a complete food formulated around it are different interventions. The well-known result on Fera’s product page comes from the latter.

The meaning of the 92% figure

In a 90-day study, 24 of 26 dogs completing a 6.5% MCT plus nutrient-blend diet improved or remained stable in owner-rated social interaction. That is about 92%; the responder definition included no further progression, not just improvement. 5

The blend also included other nutrients. The initial comparison did not establish that the diet groups changed differently over time. Improvement from baseline alone does not establish an advantage over control. 5

Fera’s graphic explicitly acknowledges that the chews were not tested. 1 The diet research is relevant to the ingredient idea, while remaining a different product and feeding intervention.

Phosphatidylserine was studied in a canine combination

A crossover study of nine aged Beagles tested a supplement containing phosphatidylserine, Ginkgo biloba, vitamin E and pyridoxine. The dogs performed better on a short-term spatial-memory task with the combination than with control. 6

That is a concrete canine result, and a reason the ingredient appears in brain-health formulas. The result belongs to the combination studied; it does not isolate phosphatidylserine’s contribution or test either of Fera’s conflicting listed amounts.

Ergothioneine brings an earlier-stage research idea

The ergothioneine paper linked by Fera found lifespan and mobility effects in worms, and improvements in endurance and muscle-related measures in rats. Rat muscle NAD measures also changed. No dogs were tested. 7

The interest is the connection between this compound, cellular metabolism and physical function. Keep the animal models straight: the lifespan finding was in worms, while the rat work examined performance and physiology. Neither result is a measured extra lifespan for a dog eating the chew.

The resveratrol dog trial addressed acute illness

Fera’s linked resveratrol trial involved puppies treated for parvovirus enteritis. Adding resveratrol to supportive care improved some oxidative-stress and intestinal-injury markers, but did not demonstrate an extra benefit in clinical score or survival. 8

It helps explain interest in antioxidant chemistry under physiological stress. It does not answer whether this ingredient slows normal canine aging. A paper can be relevant to an ingredient’s biology without supplying the outcome implied by a product category.

The 92% figure included dogs who stayed stable, and it came from a complete-diet study.

Resolve the serving guide for your jar

That is a practical disagreement, alongside the phosphatidylserine amount noted above. Send Fera a photo of your jar and ask which directions apply before choosing the daily amount or delivery interval. There is no need to invent a compromise between the two online charts, or to assume the higher number is better.

The NASC credential deserves credit

NASC independently lists Fera as a Primary Supplier that has passed a facility audit and earned permission to display its Quality Seal. 9

That is useful external confirmation for a shopper who values manufacturing and quality oversight. It is separate from a product’s scientific studies, but no less relevant to deciding whether the company’s quality information is substantial.

A real report for the Longevity product

Fera’s public Eurofins certificate identifies Longevity lot 20262123A. Its two pages report microbial tests and arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead measurements. They do not show assays of the five active ingredients. 10

That public access is a genuine strength. You can inspect an actual report for this product rather than infer testing from a badge or an older certificate for another supplement. If you want confirmation of active content, ask for those results specifically. Their absence from these pages does not establish that such testing was never done.

Will a chew or a meal addition suit your dog?

Fera’s carrier includes chicken bone broth, dried bacon fat and oat flour. 1 Hollywood Elixir includes chicken ingredients and whey protein isolate. 11 The whole recipe needs to fit any food restrictions.

Then think about how you already feed. A readily accepted chew can be a simple separate reward. A powder may suit a household that prefers preparing everything with dinner. Neither is universally easier: the useful choice is the one your dog will take and you can give as directed.

What Hollywood Elixir brings together

A standard 2.5 g sachet declares 60 mg NR, 40 mg CoQ10 and 50 mg glutathione, with complementary ingredients. 11

NR supplies material for NAD. CoQ carries electrons within the mitochondrial machinery that helps make food energy usable. Glutathione supports antioxidant defenses: an enzyme uses its reduced form to turn hydrogen peroxide into water. 2 12 13

For owners interested in those roles together, Hollywood Elixir puts the combination in one prepared addition to the usual meal. You can explore its full formula without having to assemble several separate products.

Compare the formula and the ongoing outlay

For illustration, two Fera chews a day would use two jars in 90 days, costing $99.90 one-time. That is a count scenario, not a weight-based recommendation. 1

Hollywood Elixir’s Standard plan costs $199 for 90 sachets, with one sachet daily directed for dogs from 7–30 lb. 11 The serving guides must be matched to your dog before treating those totals as a personal quote.

Fera can have a substantial price advantage. Hollywood Elixir’s extra cost is worth considering when NR with CoQ10, glutathione and its companion ingredients is the combination you want. A larger number of ingredients, or a higher printed precursor amount, is not a clinical ranking.

What a short safety experiment can tell you

A 14-day NMN study included ten adult Beagles, split between treated and control groups. The dogs generally remained in good condition, while creatinine and uric acid rose in the treated group. Researchers measured increased serum nicotinamide; this was not direct proof of a canine NAD increase. 14

It is relevant early safety information, with a short duration and a different exposure from the chew. A dog taking medication or living with disease needs its treating veterinarian to assess the complete proposed formula. The study cannot provide a universal interaction or lifelong-use assurance.

Fera makes sense for an owner who wants its NMN-centered combination in a chew, values the published quality information and finds the ongoing price manageable. Resolve the jar’s directions, then decide whether that recipe fits.

Hollywood Elixir suits an owner who wants NR, CoQ10 and glutathione already together in a portioned powder. Add the serving for your dog to the usual meal and keep the routine simple. The choice can be clear even while the science of extending healthy years continues to develop.
