An NMN-and-fish-oil chew or a fuller cellular nutrition system?

Renue's cat chew brings together two declared actives: NMN, a starting material for NAD+, and fish oil. Hollywood Elixir combines an NAD+ precursor with CoQ10, B vitamins, glutathione and complementary antioxidants in a 17-active powder. 1 2

The useful difference is what those ingredients do. Renue pairs NAD-related nutrition with a source of fatty acids. Hollywood Elixir emphasizes the reactions that make usable energy and the antioxidant defenses that help protect working cells. Your cat's weight, food preferences and budget then determine how each choice fits the daily routine.

What does Hollywood Elixir add to the comparison?

Hollywood Elixir combines NR with CoQ10 and B vitamins for cellular-energy nutrition, plus glutathione and antioxidant vitamins for complementary protective jobs. Renue’s cat chew pairs NMN with fish oil at a lower cost. The choice is between these different ingredient selections and daily routines, not a milligram contest between NMN and NR.

What is in the Renue cat chew?

Each whole chew declares 35 mg NMN and 25 mg fish oil. A jar contains 60 chews. These are the amounts for the cat product; Renue's dog chew has a different NMN amount and a different ingredient selection. 1

For a multi-pet household, our Renue dog-chew comparison covers that separate joint-ingredient formula. Keeping the products distinct matters when reading online experiences: a dog's response to its chew does not tell you how this cat recipe will perform.

The serving changes above 10 lb

Renue's pictured back label directs one chew daily for cats up to 10 lb and two for cats over 10 lb. One chew supplies 35 mg NMN and 25 mg fish oil; two supply 70 mg and 50 mg respectively. A 60-chew jar therefore lasts 60 days or 30 days. 1

Hollywood Elixir's adult portions are half a sachet below 7 lb, one sachet from 7–30 lb, and two above 30 lb. A 9 lb cat and an 11 lb cat take the same Hollywood Elixir portion, but different Renue portions. That small weight difference doubles Renue's daily chew use and changes the cost comparison. 3

Choose a format your cat will finish

A chew can be offered separately as a treat. Some owners report crumbling Renue's chew into food; Hollywood Elixir is designed as a powder for food. 1 3

The practical question is whether your cat finishes the intended serving. Visible owner reviews include cats that accept Renue's chews and cats that refuse them; crumbling is useful for some households. Those experiences help you anticipate a feeding task, rather than predict your own cat's taste. A supplement left in the bowl is also a serving you cannot accurately count.

Read the carrier ingredients as well as the actives

Renue's pictured inactive panel lists brewer's yeast, buffered white distilled vinegar, chicken fat, citric acid, coconut glycerin, molasses, natural cheese flavor, natural tuna flavor, natural flavor, porcine plasma, potato flour, rosemary extract, sunflower lecithin, whitefish hydrolysate and water. Its back label says it contains fish. The product's marketing copy describes chicken/chicken-liver flavor, so confirm the recipe on the jar you receive if a particular ingredient matters. 1

Hollywood Elixir contains whey protein isolate and chicken flavor/chicken liver, alongside yeast extract, glycine and hydroxypropyl beta-cyclodextrin. Neither choice is an animal-ingredient-free formula. For a cat on a prescribed elimination diet, bring the complete proposed recipe to the clinician managing that diet. 2

“Food supplies the fuel. NAD+ helps cells move the electrons used to turn that fuel into usable energy.”

How NAD+ helps a cat use the energy in food

Food supplies energy, but a cell needs chemical reactions to make that energy usable. As nutrients are broken down, NAD+ accepts electrons and becomes NADH. Those electrons can enter reactions in mitochondria that help produce ATP, the molecule used to power much of the cell's work. 4 5

An NAD+ precursor supplies starting material for this existing biology. It does not supply a meal's calories or establish that an older cat is deficient. Our NAD+ for cats guide explains the coenzyme and the pathways that replenish it.

NMN and NR are different starting materials

Renue uses nicotinamide mononucleotide, or NMN. Hollywood Elixir uses nicotinamide riboside, or NR, declared as 60 mg NR tartrate per full sachet. Both relate to the body's production of NAD+, but their names and declared weights describe different materials. 1 2 4

The numbers 35 mg and 60 mg therefore cannot tell you which serving raises a cat's NAD+ more. Salt form, delivery and metabolism matter, and these two finished cat-serving regimens have not been compared in the research reviewed here. The rest of the ingredient selection remains a meaningful buying distinction.

Hollywood Elixir also supplies ingredients used in energy production

CoQ10 carries electrons within the mitochondrial machinery that produces ATP. Riboflavin, or vitamin B2, supplies coenzymes involved in energy production and metabolism. Their jobs complement an NAD+ precursor: they participate in the reactions that use the fuel from food. 5 13

Per full sachet, Hollywood Elixir declares 40 mg of its 98% CoQ10 preparation and 0.5 mg riboflavin, alongside NR. Renue's cat ingredient panel does not list CoQ10. 1 2

Glutathione and antioxidant vitamins protect in different places

Reduced glutathione helps an enzyme convert hydrogen peroxide into water. Vitamin E helps interrupt damaging oxidation in membrane fats. Vitamin C can help regenerate vitamin E after it has acted as an antioxidant. These are complementary jobs within antioxidant defense. 6 7

Hollywood Elixir supplies 50 mg reduced glutathione, a vitamin E preparation providing 15 IU, and 10 mg vitamin C per full sachet. 2 This gives its cellular-energy ingredients a companion selection for peroxide removal and membrane protection.

Fish oil and antioxidant protection answer different needs

Fish oil supplies fatty acids, including the long-chain omega-3s EPA and DHA. Renue declares 25 mg of total fish oil per chew; it does not disclose that amount as 25 mg EPA plus DHA. 1

Hollywood Elixir's antioxidant selection serves a different purpose from adding fish oil. Vitamin E's protection of membrane fats is not the same thing as supplying those fats. If you are comparing omega-3 products for a specified EPA/DHA amount, use a product's actual fatty-acid declaration rather than treating its total oil weight as equivalent.

“Fish oil supplies fatty acids. Antioxidants such as vitamin E help protect membrane fats from damaging oxidation. Those are different nutritional jobs.”

What does a supplement add to complete cat food?

A complete-and-balanced food is intended to provide the essential nutrition for its stated life stage. Vitamins already present in that food do not become irrelevant when you compare supplements, and a healthy cat's bowl should not be treated as deficient simply because a supplement exists. 10

Hollywood Elixir is an optional, targeted addition: it brings NR, CoQ10 and the antioxidant ingredients above into one serving. Its remaining selection includes niacin, B6 and a B12 preparation; resveratrol, quercetin, blueberry and a 2% astaxanthin preparation; and yeast beta-glucans, reishi, spirulina and whey protein isolate. 2 The full ingredient declaration lets you compare that combined recipe with your cat's existing food and supplements. The purchase is for that specific formulation, not a replacement for complete nutrition.

What feline fish-oil research can tell you

There is direct research showing that dietary fish oil can change a cat's fatty-acid profile. In a 2026 crossover study of 10 healthy adult cats, fish-oil feeding periods increased plasma EPA and DHA and altered lipid measurements. The researchers said the clinical relevance remained to be established. 8

That supports a real nutritional role for fish oil in cats. It does not show that this retail chew improves heart health, mobility or lifespan: the study used a different feeding regimen, not Renue's product. Its short periods and lack of a washout also limit what can be concluded.

Does cat research establish an NMN longevity or heart benefit?

The research reviewed for this comparison did not identify a published finished-product feline trial establishing longer life or better health from either formula.

One relevant heart-disease paper studied metabolic differences among 83 cats, including healthy controls and cats with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. It found altered metabolites related to energy and antioxidant biology, including lower nicotinamide in some disease groups. But it was observational: the cats were not assigned NMN or NR. 9

Those findings help researchers ask questions about disease; they do not show that a chew prevents or treats HCM. If your cat has heart disease or takes medication, discuss the proposed supplement and full recipe with the treating veterinarian.

What “liposomal” means for this purchase

Renue describes its NMN delivery as liposomal, using phospholipids in the delivery system. The intention is to help carry an ingredient through the body. That is a formulation description, not a measured result in your cat. 1

The manufacturer's wider discussion includes absorption examples involving other compounds. Those results do not establish how much NMN this cat chew delivers compared with Hollywood Elixir's NR formula. You can recognize the delivery design without using an unrelated percentage to rank the two products.

Use owner experiences to plan the routine

Owner accounts are most useful for concrete questions: will a cat take a chew, can it be crumbled, and does the household remember the serving? Reports of more play or a shinier coat cannot separate a supplement from food, health changes and ordinary variation. 1 14

Keep a simple record of the food offered, supplement portion and amount eaten. Note changes you want to discuss at the next veterinary visit. That creates a clearer account of your own cat's routine than copying another owner's experiment.

Ask whether the test record matches the cat product

Renue describes a testing program covering raw materials, finished products and stability. At this review, the lab-report link on its cat product page opened a report for dog chews. That document identifies a dog-chew sample and batch; it cannot certify the separate cat recipe. Ask for the report that matches the cat product and lot you are buying. 11 15

Hollywood Elixir's COA lookup provides a manufacturer-issued quality summary for its recorded batch, with different kinds of checks across the report. Read the issuer, sample identity and methods alongside the results; it is not an independent assay of all 17 actives. 12

What a 9 lb or 11 lb cat actually costs to supply

Prices checked October 5, 2026, are in USD before shipping and tax. Renue's 60-chew jar is $34.95 one time. Hollywood Elixir's 90-sachet pack is $199 one time. 1 3

  • 9 lb cat: one Renue chew costs about $0.58 a day. Buying two jars costs $69.90 and covers 90 days with 30 chews left. One Hollywood Elixir sachet costs about $2.21 a day; the $199 pack covers 90 days.
  • 11 lb cat: two Renue chews cost about $1.17 a day. Three jars cost $104.85 for 90 days. Hollywood Elixir remains one sachet and $199 for 90 days.

Renue costs less in both cases. Hollywood Elixir's premium buys its selected combination of NR, CoQ10, glutathione, antioxidant vitamins and supporting ingredients.

The displayed subscription prices are $31.46 per Renue jar and $189 per 90-sachet Hollywood Elixir pack. Match the renewal interval to actual use; a lower recurring price is useful only if the delivery schedule fits.

Bring energy and antioxidant nutrition into the daily meal

Choose Hollywood Elixir's 17-active system to combine an NAD+ building block, cellular-energy ingredients and complementary antioxidant defenses in your cat's daily nutrition. NR and CoQ10 address the energy side; glutathione and antioxidant vitamins support the protective side. 2 12

Renue remains a lower-cost choice for an NMN-and-fish-oil chew. Hollywood Elixir brings the fuller energy-and-antioxidant selection together in a measured powder serving.

Explore Hollywood Elixir, check its full recipe against your cat's food and care, then choose the serving and pack for your cat.

FAQ

What are the active ingredients in Renue NMN cat chews?

The current cat panel declares 35 mg NMN and 25 mg fish oil per whole chew. A jar contains 60 chews. This is a different recipe from Renue’s dog chew; use the cat label when comparing ingredients and portions.

How many Renue chews does a cat take each day?

The pictured back label directs one chew daily for cats up to 10 lb and two daily for cats over 10 lb. That makes a 60-chew jar a 60-day or 30-day supply. Hollywood Elixir’s adult portions are half a sachet below 7 lb, one from 7–30 lb and two above 30 lb.

Are these formulas proven to make cats live longer?

The research reviewed here did not identify a published finished-product feline trial establishing longer life from either formula. Ingredient biology and studies of other feeding regimens explain scientific interest; they do not establish the lifetime benefit or long-term safety of a particular retail formula.

Does liposomal NMN mean Renue absorbs better than Hollywood Elixir?

That comparison has not been established by the feline research reviewed here. Renue describes a phospholipid delivery system, but absorption results for other compounds do not measure this cat chew against Hollywood Elixir’s NR formula. The two label weights also describe different materials.

Does 25 mg fish oil mean 25 mg EPA and DHA?

No. The label gives the total fish-oil amount, not a separate EPA/DHA declaration. Use a specified EPA and DHA amount when that is the nutrient quantity you need to compare.

What matters if my cat has a food sensitivity?

Read the complete recipe on the jar or pack. Renue’s pictured panel includes fish ingredients, chicken fat, porcine plasma and other carriers. Hollywood Elixir contains whey protein isolate and chicken flavor/chicken liver. For a prescribed elimination diet, ask the treating clinician whether the proposed recipe fits.

Can NMN or NR supplements treat feline HCM?

The feline HCM paper discussed here observed metabolic differences; it did not test NMN or NR treatment. It therefore does not show that either supplement prevents or treats HCM. A cat with heart disease needs its supplement choices reviewed with the veterinarian managing that condition.

Which option costs less for a 9 lb or 11 lb cat?

At the October 5, 2026 one-time prices, Renue costs about $0.58 a day for a 9 lb cat and $1.17 for an 11 lb cat. Hollywood Elixir costs about $2.21 a day for either weight using the $199/90-sachet pack. Prices exclude tax and shipping; whole-pack checkout totals and leftovers are explained above.

Does the linked Renue lab report verify the cat chews?

At this review, the report linked from the cat product page identified a dog-chew sample. It cannot certify the separate cat formula. Ask Renue for a record matching the cat product and lot; this finding does not establish that cat chews have never been tested.

Can I mix either supplement into cat food?

Hollywood Elixir is designed as a powder for food. Some owners report crumbling Renue’s chew into food. Watch whether your cat finishes the intended portion; individual acceptance determines which format works in your household.

Discover LPL-01: How This Fits Into a Larger Feline Longevity System

Aging in cats unfolds quietly. It’s not driven by a single failure, but by gradual shifts across interconnected systems — cellular energy, oxidative balance, immune tone, and tissue integrity — each influencing the others over time.

This article explores one layer of that system. To understand what actually shapes long-term health, you need to step back and look at how these layers interact.

Start with the underlying science:
