Pawever Plus for Cats combines joint-focused ingredients with NMN, CoQ10, taurine and L-carnitine. Its revised recipe includes PEA and undenatured type II collagen, both with relevant feline ingredient research to consider. It merits a look when that joint-focused combination is what you want in the daily routine. 1 4 5

Our choice for daily cellular energy and antioxidant support is Hollywood Elixir (HE). Its complete 17-active formula combines NAD+ building blocks and CoQ10 with reduced glutathione, riboflavin and supporting antioxidants. You get ingredients involved in powering cells alongside an antioxidant molecule used to remove reactive peroxide and a vitamin involved in its recycling. 2 7 8 9

Which Pawever cat formula are you buying?

This review covers the revised Pawever Plus for Cats, with PEA and undenatured type II collagen. It is separate from the brand's single-NMN cat capsule. 1

The manufacturer changed more than the ingredient count: PEA replaced glucosamine, fish oil was removed and the collagen preparation changed. Current product information and the complete panel agree on 80 mg NMN per capsule. Match the bottle to this recipe when ordering; older descriptions and experiences may concern the previous version. 3

How does current Pawever Plus for Cats compare with Hollywood Elixir?

Pawever Plus for Cats combines NMN and CoQ10 with joint-focused ingredients, taurine and L-carnitine. Its current PEA and undenatured collagen have relevant feline research, though the studies did not test the complete Plus recipe. Hollywood Elixir is our choice for daily energy and antioxidant nutrition: its 17-active formula includes NAD+ building blocks, CoQ10, reduced glutathione for peroxide-removal reactions and riboflavin for the recycling system. Both can mix into food; Pawever specifies one cat capsule daily, while HE uses the adult cat’s weight to set the portion.

The current 11-active cat recipe

Pawever declares these amounts per capsule: 1

  • Green-lipped mussel powder 200 mg; PEA 150 mg.
  • Taurine 100 mg; L-carnitine 100 mg; NMN 80 mg.
  • Undenatured type II collagen 40 mg; CoQ10 30 mg.
  • Hyaluronic acid 25 mg; vitamin E 10 mg; manganese sulphate 3 mg; vitamin B12 0.25 mg.

The panel also lists an HPMC capsule, silicon dioxide, rice starch and hydrolysed chicken liver digest. The product page additionally discloses mixed tocopherols. A plant-derived capsule does not make this animal-containing recipe vegan. Keep the stated forms and units when comparing labels, including vitamin E in mg and manganese sulphate rather than an assumed elemental manganese amount.

PEA has relevant feline research

PEA, or palmitoylethanolamide, gives the revised formula a joint-focused ingredient with actual cat research behind it. A six-week placebo-controlled trial enrolled 50 cats and analyzed 49. Cats receiving the proprietary Levagen+ PEA preparation had better owner-rated jumping up and down by week six and better current-pain ratings at selected visits. The overall mobility-questionnaire score did not significantly differ between groups. 4

These findings came from home questionnaires and a particular PEA preparation, rather than objective activity tracking or a trial of Pawever Plus. Matching the printed 150 mg alone does not make the two preparations interchangeable.

Collagen and green-lipped mussel: what cat studies add

A feline crossover study of an undenatured-collagen chew enrolled 20 cats with confirmed degenerative joint disease; 14 completed it. After 12 weeks, the percentage change in a caregiver-rated mobility score favored the tested Flexadin Advanced Cat chew over placebo. The small sample, subjective ratings and possible carryover between periods limit the finding. It supports interest in the ingredient category without establishing equivalence to Pawever's 40 mg preparation. 5

Green-lipped mussel also appears in feline research. A nine-week study of 40 cats found increased objective activity with a diet combining EPA/DHA, mussel extract, glucosamine and chondroitin. That result belongs to the combined diet, not isolated mussel powder or today's Plus recipe. 6

Both formulas include ingredients for cellular energy

Pawever's NMN and HE's NR are different building blocks for NAD+. The 80 mg NMN and 60 mg NR tartrate declarations describe different materials; their weights do not rank clinical performance. 1 2 13 14

During nutrient breakdown, NAD+ accepts electrons and becomes NADH. NADH delivers electrons into mitochondrial machinery, and CoQ10 carries them onward as that machinery produces ATP—the energy-carrying molecule cells use for work. 7

Both formulas include CoQ10: 30 mg per Pawever capsule and 40 mg of HE's 98% preparation per full sachet. HE builds on these shared energy-related ingredients with reduced glutathione and supporting antioxidants.

“NAD+ building blocks and CoQ10 contribute at different points in turning food energy into ATP.”

Glutathione helps protect working cells

Energy production and other normal cellular work generate reactive oxygen molecules. Some have signaling roles, but their reactivity can also damage cell components. Antioxidant defenses help manage them by converting them into less reactive products. 8

Reduced glutathione participates in one such defense. The enzyme glutathione peroxidase uses it to turn hydrogen peroxide into water. Removing that reactive peroxide helps protect cells as they carry out everyday work. 8

HE includes 50 mg reduced glutathione per full sachet. Pawever already includes vitamin E and CoQ10; HE adds this distinct antioxidant ingredient alongside its cellular-energy nutrients. 1 2

Riboflavin contributes to the recycling step

After glutathione participates in peroxide removal, it becomes oxidized. Glutathione reductase restores the reduced form for reuse. That enzyme relies on FAD, a cofactor made from riboflavin, or vitamin B2, and uses NADPH to drive the reaction. 9

HE supplies riboflavin at 0.5 mg per full sachet together with reduced glutathione. You get both the antioxidant molecule and a vitamin involved in its recycling system, alongside supporting antioxidants such as vitamins C and E. 2

The full Hollywood Elixir formula

HE's healthy-aging system contains 17 actives per full 2.5 g sachet: 2

  • Energy-related nutrients: NR tartrate 60 mg; CoQ10 98% preparation 40 mg; niacin 2 mg; riboflavin 0.5 mg; vitamin B6 as pyridoxal 5-phosphate 1 mg; methylcobalamin B12 1% preparation 0.25 mg.
  • Glutathione and antioxidant ingredients: reduced glutathione 50 mg; vitamin C 10 mg; vitamin E 15 IU; resveratrol 98% extract 15 mg; quercetin dihydrate 95% preparation 25 mg; natural astaxanthin 2% preparation 2 mg.
  • Other active components: beta glucan 50 mg; reishi preparation standardized to 35% polysaccharides 25 mg; spirulina 50 mg; blueberry 50 mg; whey protein isolate 90% preparation 250 mg.

Those preparation strengths are part of the declarations. The complete ingredient panel gives every form and supporting ingredient. The daily portion brings this whole composition into the meal, with energy-related nutrients and complementary antioxidant ingredients already combined.

Taurine has a purposeful place in a cat formula

Taurine supports feline heart function: original research linked low taurine to myocardial failure in affected cats and found improved ventricular function following supplementation. 10

That does not mean every cat needs extra taurine. A complete, balanced cat food is the nutritional foundation and ordinarily supplies the required nutrients. An owner can prefer Pawever's taurine-containing recipe without treating the supplement as correction of a diagnosed deficiency. 11

HE does not list taurine. If a veterinarian has prescribed it for a particular need, choosing HE should not remove that part of the care plan.

L-carnitine addresses another part of energy use

L-carnitine helps transport long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria, where they can be used to produce energy. Pawever includes it at 100 mg per capsule, giving its recipe another purposeful energy-related component. 1 12

Normal biology and the cited ingredient studies explain reasons for choosing these ingredients. They do not establish that either complete retail formula extends a cat's life, prevents disease or outperforms the other clinically. The choice here is daily nutrition, while an actual health problem needs its own assessment.

“Glutathione helps remove reactive peroxide, protecting cells as they carry out everyday work.”

Pawever’s direction is one cat capsule daily

The current manufacturer science and formula-update pages describe one daily sprinkle capsule. With 30 capsules in the bottle, that is a 30-day supply. Open it and mix the contents into food according to the product directions. These are the cat instructions; the dog Plus weight bands do not determine this portion. 1 3

The label excludes pregnant and lactating cats, calls for veterinary directions and says to stop use if adverse effects occur. It also directs storage below 25°C. Keep the instructions supplied with the actual bottle available.

Choose the HE portion for your adult cat

HE's adult-cat guidance uses three weight bands: 15

  • Below 7 lb: half a full sachet daily.
  • 7–30 lb: one full sachet daily.
  • Above 30 lb: two full sachets daily.

A full sachet is 2.5 g. Lite 90 supplies 90 half portions; Standard 90 supplies 90 full sachets; Double 180 supplies 180 full sachets for the two-sachet routine. Each is a 90-day option at its intended portion. Match the pack to the cat's weight rather than converting from Pawever's capsule count.

Food acceptance and animal ingredients matter

Both products can be mixed into food. Pawever identifies chicken, soy and shellfish; its capsule contents include chicken liver digest and green-lipped mussel. HE includes chicken flavor, chicken liver powder and milk-derived whey. Check the full recipes against a specific dietary restriction. 1 2

The practical question is whether the cat finishes the supplemented food. A capsule opened onto a meal and a powder sachet both change that meal's smell or taste; neither format guarantees acceptance. Manufacturer reviews include different experiences, so the flavor description is a starting point rather than a promise.

What each daily routine costs

Pawever's one-time price is AUD69.99 for 30 capsules. At one daily capsule, three bottles cover 90 days for AUD209.97 before shipping. The lower AUD59.49 recurring price belongs to a different purchasing arrangement. 1

HE's one-time Lite 90 and Standard 90 packs cost USD199; Double 180 costs USD379. Choose the corresponding half-, one- or two-sachet routine. 15

These prices use different currencies, so the bare totals are not a price ranking. With Pawever, you buy its joint-focused combination, taurine and carnitine alongside NMN and CoQ10. With HE, you buy the complete daily energy and antioxidant system described above.

Read the quality record for the product you choose

Pawever describes batch testing by an independent accredited US laboratory for heavy metals and contaminants, with reports available by email. That is the manufacturer's stated program; a report for the bottle being purchased would provide the specific results to inspect. 1

HE's COA lookup provides available lot records. The inspected record for lot 2604066 is a manufacturer quality summary with microbial, heavy-metal and active-ingredient entries and stated methods. Match the lot and review the reported scope. These records answer quality questions, while the ingredient research addresses a separate question about biological function. 16

Read owner reviews in light of the recipe change

Pawever's accumulated reviews include favorable movement stories, reports of no obvious change and differing food acceptance. They can help an owner anticipate practical questions about mixing and taste. They do not identify every reviewer's bottle as the new PEA and undenatured-collagen recipe. 1 3

For your own routine, distinguish a finished portion from food left in the bowl, and note other changes made at the same time. A supplement review cannot supply a reliable response timetable for an individual cat.

Fit the choice around the cat’s existing care

Begin with the ingredients you intend to continue. An owner choosing Pawever for its joint-focused combination or taurine should recognize that HE has a different composition. Adding both repeats precursor, CoQ10 and vitamin E supplementation without an established combined benefit in the sources reviewed. 1 2

Keep prescribed taurine or joint care intact, and have a new change in jumping, appetite or activity assessed rather than assuming normal aging. For an otherwise suitable adult cat, choose the daily recipe you want alongside complete food. The cat longevity supplement guide provides other named comparisons.

Our choice for the daily meal

Pawever Plus is worth considering for its current joint-focused ingredients, with taurine and carnitine alongside NMN and CoQ10.

We recommend Hollywood Elixir for daily cellular energy and antioxidant support. Its complete 17-active formula combines NAD+ building blocks and CoQ10 with reduced glutathione, riboflavin and supporting antioxidants in the adult cat's meal.

FAQ

What changed in Pawever Plus for Cats?

The current recipe replaces glucosamine with PEA, removes fish oil and uses undenatured type II collagen. It also changes other quantities and supporting ingredients. The complete current panel declares NMN at 80 mg per capsule. Match the bottle to the full current recipe rather than combining it with an older listing.

What did the feline PEA study find?

In a six-week trial analyzing 49 cats, a proprietary PEA preparation improved selected owner-rated jumping and pain outcomes compared with placebo. The overall mobility-questionnaire score did not significantly differ. The study used Levagen+ and home questionnaires; it did not test the finished Pawever formula.

Does a cat on complete food automatically need extra taurine?

No. Taurine has a real role in feline heart function, but complete, balanced cat food ordinarily supplies needed nutrients. Pawever includes 100 mg taurine per capsule; that is an ingredient choice, not proof of deficiency or a treatment dose for every cat. HE does not replace prescribed taurine.

Is CoQ10 exclusive to Hollywood Elixir?

No. Pawever declares CoQ10 at 30 mg per capsule, and HE declares 40 mg of its 98% preparation per full sachet. HE also includes reduced glutathione, used in peroxide-removal reactions, and riboflavin, which contributes to glutathione recycling, within its 17-active energy and antioxidant formula.

Is the current collagen undenatured, and is there cat research?

Yes. The current Pawever cat panel declares undenatured type II collagen at 40 mg. A separate feline crossover study found a caregiver-rated mobility benefit with Flexadin Advanced Cat; 14 of 20 enrolled cats completed it. The study does not establish dose or preparation equivalence to Pawever, or a result for its complete formula.

How many Pawever capsules does a cat take?

The current manufacturer science and formula-update pages describe one daily sprinkle capsule. A 30-capsule bottle therefore supplies 30 days. Use the cat instructions and actual bottle label; do not import the Plus dog weight bands. The label excludes pregnant and lactating cats and directs veterinary guidance.

Which Hollywood Elixir portion fits an adult cat?

HE specifies half a full sachet below 7 lb, one at 7–30 lb and two above 30 lb. A full sachet is 2.5 g. Lite 90 contains 90 half portions, Standard 90 contains 90 full sachets and Double 180 contains 180 full sachets. Each matches 90 days at its intended portion.

Are both products suitable for the same food restrictions?

Their ingredient sources differ. Pawever identifies chicken, soy and shellfish, including chicken liver digest and green-lipped mussel. HE contains chicken ingredients and milk-derived whey. Both can mix into food, but neither format guarantees that a cat will eat the full portion. Check the complete recipes for a specific restriction.

What do the 90-day routines cost?

At the one-time price, three Pawever bottles cost AUD209.97 and supply 90 daily capsules. HE’s one-time Lite 90 or Standard 90 costs USD199; Double 180 costs USD379. These are different currencies. Match the intended portion and purchasing arrangement before comparing the totals.

What testing is available, and should I combine the formulas?

Pawever describes independent accredited US laboratory batch testing with reports by email. HE offers available lot-specific manufacturer quality records through its COA lookup. Combining the formulas repeats several ingredients without an established combined benefit in the reviewed sources; check both complete labels with the clinician managing any prescribed care.

Discover LPL-01: How This Fits Into a Larger Feline Longevity System

Aging in cats unfolds quietly. It’s not driven by a single failure, but by gradual shifts across interconnected systems — cellular energy, oxidative balance, immune tone, and tissue integrity — each influencing the others over time.

This article explores one layer of that system. To understand what actually shapes long-term health, you need to step back and look at how these layers interact.

Start with the underlying science:
