Waggy’s NAD+ combines an NAD+ precursor with resveratrol and declared EPA and DHA amounts in a salmon-flavored chew. Its full fish-based recipe also includes B vitamins and antioxidant ingredients. It is worth considering when you want those fish-oil ingredients in a chew your dog will take. 1

Our choice for daily cellular energy and antioxidant support is Hollywood Elixir (HE). Its 17-active formula includes NAD+ building blocks, CoQ10 for energy production and reduced glutathione for antioxidant defense. CoQ10 helps carry electrons through the cell’s energy-producing machinery; glutathione participates in removing reactive peroxide that can damage cell components. HE brings those complementary functions into the daily meal. 2 5 6

A fish-based chew with a specific daily recipe

Waggy’s NAD+ is the Mexican brand’s 60-chew dog supplement, sold for aging and vitality support. Each salmon-flavored chew weighs 2 g, making the bag 120 g. The formula brings its NAD+ precursor ingredient together with resveratrol and declared EPA and DHA amounts. 1

That combination matters if you want a chew and specifically want those fish-oil ingredients. HE is a powder for the daily meal with a different composition. The useful comparison starts with which nutrients you want to add, followed by whether your dog will reliably take the portion.

At a Glance

How does Waggy’s NAD+ for Dogs compare with Hollywood Elixir?

Waggy’s NAD+ combines a labelled NAD+ precursor with resveratrol, EPA and DHA in a fish-based chew that also contains B vitamins and antioxidant ingredients. Hollywood Elixir adds CoQ10 for cellular energy production and reduced glutathione for antioxidant defense within its complete 17-active formula. We recommend HE for that daily energy and antioxidant composition. Waggy’s provides 52 mg combined EPA/DHA per chew, and its 60-chew bag lasts 60, 30 or 20 days under the three weight bands.

The four ingredients with printed quantities

The manufacturer declares these amounts per chew: 1

  • “Nicotinamida Ribosa”: 75 mg.
  • Resveratrol: 23 mg.
  • EPA: 27 mg.
  • DHA: 25 mg.

The precursor wording above is the label’s wording; the panel does not identify a chloride or tartrate form. HE explicitly declares NR tartrate. The printed 75 mg and 60 mg amounts are not a measure of which product will work better. 2

The separate EPA and DHA figures are useful: they disclose those two omega-3 amounts rather than leaving the owner with only a total fish-oil weight.

The full recipe includes B vitamins and antioxidants

Waggy’s contains more than the four quantified ingredients. Its complete manufacturer list includes salmon and tuna hydrolysates, omega-3-rich fish oil, vegetable glycerin, chicory, yeast hydrolysate, hydrolyzed collagen and water. 1

Alongside the precursor and resveratrol are vitamin C, sweet potato flour, spirulina, chlorella, acerola, citric acid, buffered distilled white vinegar, vegetable oil with mixed tocopherols, lecithin and rosemary extract, B1, xanthan gum, B3, flaxseed, turmeric, oregano, B2, B6 and B12.

Waggy’s therefore already supplies antioxidant ingredients and riboflavin. CoQ10 and reduced glutathione do not appear in this complete list. HE supplies both alongside its own B vitamins and supporting antioxidants.

EPA and DHA: the amount in the daily portion

EPA and DHA are two omega-3 fatty acids supplied by fish oil. Waggy’s declarations add up to 52 mg EPA plus DHA per chew. Under its directions, that becomes 52 mg at one chew, 104 mg at two and 156 mg at three. 1

Use those combined amounts when reviewing a dog’s existing fish-oil routine. A product with a large total oil weight can disclose a different EPA/DHA quantity, so compare the relevant label figures rather than the size of the chew or capsule.

These are ingredient amounts, not evidence that the portion treats a joint problem. HE does not declare EPA or DHA, so choosing it does not continue Waggy’s fish-oil contribution.

Canine fish-oil research is useful, but preparation matters

In an 84-day placebo-controlled trial, 74 of 78 enrolled dogs with osteoarthritis completed the study. A particular triglyceride EPA/DHA oil improved measures of discomfort, lameness and joint severity. 3

Results are not uniform across studies. A separate 16-week trial in 77 dogs compared fish oil with corn oil and found no significant difference in its main between-group outcomes, despite some favorable observations within the fish-oil group. 4

The studies used particular preparations and exposures in dogs with joint disease. They do not establish the same result for Waggy’s chews or its daily EPA/DHA amounts.

“NAD+ building blocks and CoQ10 help cells turn food-derived energy into ATP.”

What CoQ10 adds to the energy pathway

NAD+ participates in extracting energy from food. As nutrients break down, NAD+ accepts electrons and becomes NADH. NADH delivers those electrons into mitochondrial machinery, where CoQ10 helps carry them onward as the cell produces ATP, its usable energy-carrying molecule. 5

HE pairs NR, a building block for NAD+, with CoQ10. Per full sachet it declares NR tartrate at 60 mg and a 98% CoQ10 preparation at 40 mg. That joins ingredients involved at different points in energy production within one daily formula. 2 9

Waggy’s is also built around NAD+ support, but its current complete ingredient panel does not list CoQ10. 1

Glutathione helps protect the cells doing that work

Working cells also need antioxidant defenses. Normal metabolism produces reactive oxygen molecules; some support signaling, while their reactivity can also damage cellular components. Managing those molecules helps protect the machinery cells depend on. 6

Reduced glutathione participates in that protection. Glutathione peroxidase uses it to convert hydrogen peroxide into water, removing a reactive substance as cells carry out everyday work. 6

HE includes 50 mg reduced glutathione per full sachet alongside its energy-related nutrients. This adds a defined antioxidant component to the daily recipe; Waggy’s does not list glutathione. 1 2

Riboflavin supports the recycling step—and both contain it

Glutathione becomes oxidized when it participates in peroxide removal. Another enzyme, glutathione reductase, restores the reduced form for reuse. That enzyme uses FAD, a cofactor made from riboflavin, or B2, and draws on NADPH to drive the reaction. 7

Waggy’s already lists B2. HE specifies riboflavin at 0.5 mg per full sachet and combines it with reduced glutathione. The distinction is the complete combination: HE supplies glutathione alongside the vitamin involved in its recycling, plus CoQ10 and the rest of its healthy-aging formula. 1 2

The complete 17-active Hollywood Elixir formula

Per full 2.5 g sachet, HE declares: 2

  • Energy-related nutrients: NR tartrate 60 mg; CoQ10 98% preparation 40 mg; niacin 2 mg; riboflavin 0.5 mg; vitamin B6 as pyridoxal 5-phosphate 1 mg; methylcobalamin B12 1% preparation 0.25 mg.
  • Glutathione and antioxidant ingredients: reduced glutathione 50 mg; vitamin C 10 mg; vitamin E 15 IU; resveratrol 98% extract 15 mg; quercetin dihydrate 95% preparation 25 mg; natural astaxanthin 2% preparation 2 mg.
  • Other active components: beta glucan 50 mg; reishi preparation standardized to 35% polysaccharides 25 mg; spirulina 50 mg; blueberry 50 mg; whey protein isolate 90% preparation 250 mg.

The full ingredient panel identifies every preparation and supporting ingredient. The strengths remain attached to the printed weights, including the astaxanthin and B12 preparations. Use the full-sachet basis when applying the daily weight guidance below.

Resveratrol is shared; a lifespan result is not established

Both products include resveratrol: Waggy’s declares 23 mg per chew, while HE declares 15 mg of its 98% extract per full sachet. 1 2

A short experiment in 12 healthy adult dogs found changes in measured immune-cell functions after resveratrol exposure. Some stimulated inflammatory signals increased. It was not a longevity trial or a demonstration that resveratrol simply reduces every inflammatory response. 8

Across this comparison, ingredient studies and normal biology explain reasons for choosing a recipe. They do not establish that either complete retail formula extends a dog’s life, prevents disease or performs better clinically.

“Glutathione helps remove reactive peroxide before it can damage the components of working cells.”

A 60-chew bag can last 60, 30 or 20 days

Waggy’s current daily directions are: 1

  • Under 10 kg: one chew; 60 days per bag.
  • 10–25 kg: two chews; 30 days per bag.
  • Above 25 kg: three chews; 20 days per bag.

The manufacturer recommends oral use, preferably with food. Its product FAQ excludes puppies and pregnant or lactating dogs. It describes the product for older dogs, despite broader language in a gallery image; use the specific product directions when deciding suitability.

The minimum-four-week use instruction is not a guarantee of an observable result within four weeks. A change in mobility, sleep or behavior warrants its own attention.

Match Hollywood Elixir’s pack to the dog’s portion

HE's adult-dog guidance is half a full sachet below 7 lb, one at 7–30 lb and two above 30 lb. A full sachet is 2.5 g. 10

The corresponding 90-day packs are Lite 90 half portions, Standard 90 full sachets and Double 180 full sachets. Lite 90 is 90 half portions, while Double 180 supplies two full sachets a day for 90 days.

Choose from the dog’s actual weight and the HE guidance. A Waggy’s chew is a different formulation and unit; its count does not determine how much HE to use.

A fish chew or a powder in the meal?

Waggy’s uses salmon and tuna hydrolysates and fish oil. HE contains chicken flavor, chicken liver powder and milk-derived whey. Those differences can matter more than format when a dog has a specific dietary restriction. Read both complete ingredient lists. 1 2

For a dog that takes fish-flavored chews readily, Waggy’s may fit an established treat routine. For a dog that finishes supplemented food, HE adds the whole formula to the meal. Neither a hydrolyzed ingredient nor a flavor description guarantees tolerance or acceptance.

Watch whether the dog consumes the intended portion; a refused chew or unfinished supplemented meal changes the actual intake.

What each daily routine costs

Waggy’s current one-time price is MXN449 per 60-chew bag. At an example weight of 15 kg, two chews daily make one bag a 30-day supply: three bags cost MXN1,347 for 90 days before shipping. The MXN404.10 recurring offer is a separate purchase arrangement. 1

That same 15 kg dog is above HE’s 30 lb threshold, so its 90-day option is Double 180 at USD379. HE’s Lite 90 and Standard 90 cost USD199 at their intended smaller portions. 10

Mexican pesos and US dollars are different currencies. These figures show what to order, not a currency-adjusted winner. With Waggy’s, you buy a fish-oil chew routine; choosing HE brings CoQ10 and glutathione into the complete daily energy and antioxidant formula.

Inspect the label and the available quality record

Waggy’s original packaging provides the complete recipe, four quantified ingredient declarations and weight-based directions. Use that full list when checking ingredients, rather than a retailer summary that may describe something different. 1

HE’s COA lookup provides available lot records. The inspected record for lot 2604066 is a manufacturer quality summary with microbial, heavy-metal and active-ingredient entries and stated methods. Match the lot and inspect the reported scope. 11

A label and a quality record answer different questions: what the formula declares, and what the particular record reports. Neither is a substitute for a study of health outcomes.

What owner reviews can tell you

Waggy’s exposed reviews include positive activity stories, accounts of fish or vitamin odor, and different responses to the taste. Some owners were only beginning the routine. These observations are useful when considering whether a particular dog will take the chew; they do not provide a reliable likelihood or timetable of improvement. 1

Track the practical details that affect your own experience: whether the full portion is eaten and whether food, medication or another supplement changed at the same time. Those observations are more useful than assuming every change after a purchase came from the new product.

Account for existing fish oil and prescribed care

If your dog already receives fish oil, put the current EPA and DHA amounts beside Waggy’s 52 mg per chew and its daily portion. A veterinarian managing a specific condition can help decide how that addition fits the existing plan. Choosing HE instead does not replace a prescribed EPA/DHA intake. 1 2

Using both products would also repeat several ingredients, including resveratrol and B vitamins, without an established combined benefit in the reviewed sources. Make the recipe choice deliberately rather than automatically adding one longevity product to another. Keep prescribed care intact, and use the dog longevity supplement guide to compare other named options.

Our choice for daily energy and antioxidant nutrition

Waggy’s offers a fish-based chew with separate EPA and DHA declarations, resveratrol and supporting antioxidant ingredients. It merits consideration when that composition and format suit the routine.

We recommend Hollywood Elixir for daily cellular energy and antioxidant support. Its 17-active formula brings NAD+ building blocks and CoQ10 together with reduced glutathione, riboflavin and supporting antioxidants in the adult dog’s meal.

FAQ

What is the NAD+ precursor on Waggy’s label?

The manufacturer prints “Nicotinamida Ribosa” at 75 mg per chew. The inspected panel does not identify a chloride or tartrate form. HE explicitly declares NR tartrate; the two printed weights are not a clinical potency comparison.

Does Waggy’s contain only four ingredients?

No. Four ingredients have printed quantities: the precursor, resveratrol, EPA and DHA. The complete fish-based recipe also includes B vitamins, vitamin C, mixed tocopherols, spirulina and other ingredients. Its current full manufacturer list does not include CoQ10 or reduced glutathione.

How much EPA and DHA does a daily portion supply?

Each chew declares EPA 27 mg and DHA 25 mg, totaling 52 mg. One, two or three daily chews therefore supply 52, 104 or 156 mg combined EPA/DHA. These are label quantities, not a claim that the amount treats arthritis or replaces a clinician-selected fish-oil regimen.

How long does the 60-chew bag last?

Under 10 kg, the one-chew daily direction makes it last 60 days. At 10–25 kg, two daily chews make it last 30 days. Above 25 kg, three daily chews make it last 20 days. Use the direction for the dog’s actual weight.

Is Waggy’s NAD+ intended for puppies or pregnant dogs?

Its specific product FAQ excludes puppies and pregnant or lactating dogs, despite broader all-ages language in a gallery image. The manufacturer describes the product for older dogs. Follow the actual product instructions and have a new health concern assessed rather than treating it as ordinary aging.

What does Hollywood Elixir add to this comparison?

HE includes CoQ10 for cellular energy production and reduced glutathione for peroxide-removing antioxidant reactions within its complete 17-active formula. Waggy’s already contains antioxidant ingredients and B2. HE combines reduced glutathione with riboflavin, which contributes to the glutathione-recycling enzyme, plus its other energy and antioxidant nutrients.

Which animal ingredients and formats should I compare?

Waggy’s is a salmon-flavored chew with salmon and tuna hydrolysates and fish oil. HE is a powder for food containing chicken ingredients and milk-derived whey. Check the full recipes for a dietary restriction, and make sure the dog consumes the intended portion. Neither format guarantees acceptance.

What does a 90-day routine cost for a 15 kg dog?

Waggy’s two-chew direction uses three bags over 90 days, costing MXN1,347 at the one-time MXN449 bag price before shipping. A 15 kg dog falls above HE’s 30 lb threshold, so Double 180 supplies 90 days at USD379. The currencies differ; recurring offers are separate.

Does resveratrol research prove that either formula extends life?

No. The cited short canine resveratrol experiment measured immune-cell responses, not lifespan. The fish-oil studies also used specific preparations and dogs with joint disease. Ingredient findings and normal biological functions do not establish a lifespan benefit or clinical superiority for either complete retail formula.

Can I add Waggy’s or HE to an existing fish-oil routine?

Compare the actual EPA/DHA quantities and all overlapping ingredients before adding another product. Waggy’s supplies declared EPA and DHA; HE does not declare them and should not replace a prescribed intake. Ask the clinician managing a condition how a new supplement fits the current plan rather than assuming combinations add benefit.

Discover LPL-01: How This Fits Into a Larger Canine Longevity System

Aging in dogs is not driven by a single pathway. It’s the result of interacting biological systems—energy metabolism, oxidative stress, immune signaling, and structural integrity—changing over time.

This article explores one piece of that puzzle. If you want to understand how these pieces connect—and what actually moves the needle—you need to zoom out.

Start with the underlying science:
